
NR Mine Interpreter

- Develop and deliver educational programs and interpretive tours for visitors at various mine sites in Minnesota.
- Conduct research and gather information on geology, mining history, and environmental stewardship to enhance interpretation programs.
- Act as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic resource for visitors, answering questions and providing information about the mining industry.
- Collaborate with other team members to create engaging and interactive exhibits and displays that showcase the history and importance of mining in Minnesota.
- Ensure the safety of visitors by following all safety protocols and guidelines while conducting tours and programs.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with visitors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Continuously update and improve interpretation programs to keep them relevant and engaging for different audiences.
- Assist with the development of educational materials, including brochures, handouts, and online resources.
- Stay up-to-date on current and emerging trends in the mining industry to provide accurate and timely information to visitors.
- Collaborate with local schools and community organizations to promote and coordinate educational programs and events.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling and coordinating tours, maintaining records, and managing equipment and supplies.
- Act as an ambassador for the Department of Natural Resources and promote the importance of responsible and sustainable mining practices.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, representing the organization with integrity and enthusiasm.
- Adhere to all department policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, while performing job duties.
Bachelor's Degree In Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In The Mining Industry, Preferably In A Regulatory Or Environmental Compliance Role.
Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Regulations Related To Mining Activities, Including Permitting And Reclamation Requirements.
Excellent Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Effectively Present Technical Information To Diverse Audiences.
Familiarity With Gis Software And Experience Using It To Create Maps And Analyze Spatial Data Related To Mining Activities.
