- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that effectively conveys the State of New York's mission, values, and initiatives to the public.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely coverage of the State's initiatives and events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries and interview requests, and prepare key spokespeople for media appearances.
- Collaborate with various departments and agencies to gather information and resources for communication materials.
- Write and edit a variety of communication materials, including press releases, statements, speeches, and social media posts.
- Monitor media coverage and public perception of the State of New York, and develop strategies to address any potential issues or concerns.
- Oversee the production of creative and engaging visual and written content for various communication channels, such as social media, websites, and newsletters.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote the State's initiatives and partnerships.
- Plan and execute communication campaigns and events to engage and inform the public about the State's initiatives and achievements.
- Stay up-to-date with current communication trends and technologies and make recommendations for incorporating them into the State's communication strategy.
- Manage and mentor a team of communication professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure that all communication materials and activities adhere to the State's branding and messaging guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
- Represent the State of New York at public events and conferences, promoting its mission and initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Communications Or Public Relations Role, Preferably In The Government Or Political Sector.
Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Create And Deliver Compelling Messaging To A Diverse Audience.
Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience In Leading A Team And Collaborating With Other Departments.
Knowledge Of State Government Processes And Policies, As Well As Experience Working With Media Outlets And Stakeholders In The Public Sector.
