  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that effectively conveys the State of New York's mission, values, and initiatives to the public.
  2. Create and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely coverage of the State's initiatives and events.
  3. Serve as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries and interview requests, and prepare key spokespeople for media appearances.
  4. Collaborate with various departments and agencies to gather information and resources for communication materials.
  5. Write and edit a variety of communication materials, including press releases, statements, speeches, and social media posts.
  6. Monitor media coverage and public perception of the State of New York, and develop strategies to address any potential issues or concerns.
  7. Oversee the production of creative and engaging visual and written content for various communication channels, such as social media, websites, and newsletters.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote the State's initiatives and partnerships.
  9. Plan and execute communication campaigns and events to engage and inform the public about the State's initiatives and achievements.
  10. Stay up-to-date with current communication trends and technologies and make recommendations for incorporating them into the State's communication strategy.
  11. Manage and mentor a team of communication professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  12. Ensure that all communication materials and activities adhere to the State's branding and messaging guidelines.
  13. Monitor and analyze communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
  14. Represent the State of New York at public events and conferences, promoting its mission and initiatives.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Public Relations, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Communications Or Public Relations Role, Preferably In The Government Or Political Sector.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Create And Deliver Compelling Messaging To A Diverse Audience.

  • Strong Leadership And Management Skills, With Experience In Leading A Team And Collaborating With Other Departments.

  • Knowledge Of State Government Processes And Policies, As Well As Experience Working With Media Outlets And Stakeholders In The Public Sector.
