Welcome to the State of New York's Office of Immigrant Affairs. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an Immigrant Workers Specialist. As an Immigrant Workers Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of immigrants in New York by providing them with resources and support to navigate the workforce. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to helping immigrants succeed and is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.   1. Develop and maintain relationships with immigrant communities and organizations to better understand the needs and challenges of immigrant workers in New York.
  2. Provide guidance and support to immigrant workers through workshops, trainings, and individual consultations.
  3. Conduct research and analysis on current policies and programs impacting immigrant workers in New York.
  4. Collaborate with other government agencies and community organizations to coordinate and implement initiatives that support immigrant workers.
  5. Stay up-to-date on local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to immigrant workers and advocate for their rights and protections.
  6. Create and distribute educational materials and resources for immigrant workers and employers.
  7. Assist in the development and implementation of strategies and programs to promote diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
  8. Organize and facilitate meetings and events to engage immigrant workers and promote community building.
  9. Participate in outreach efforts to increase awareness of the Office of Immigrant Affairs and its services.
  10. Maintain accurate and organized records of client interactions and program activities.
  11. Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement and implement new strategies to better serve immigrant workers.
  12. Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality when working with immigrant workers.
  13. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Human Services, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Immigrant Populations.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Immigration Policies And Procedures.

  • Bilingual Proficiency In English And A Second Language Commonly Spoken By Immigrant Communities.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Build Rapport And Trust With Diverse Populations.
