- Monitor and enforce safety regulations at all designated swim areas.
- Perform regular safety checks of all equipment and facilities.
- Identify and respond quickly to potential hazards or dangerous situations.
- Maintain constant vigilance and alertness to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
- Provide emergency care and assistance to individuals in distress.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other staff members.
- Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and any other relevant information.
- Attend and actively participate in all required trainings and meetings.
- Educate the public on water safety and proper swimming techniques.
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude towards all patrons.
- Work collaboratively with other lifeguards to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Remain calm and composed during high-pressure situations.
- Report any safety concerns or maintenance needs to designated supervisor.
- Adhere to all state and local safety regulations and guidelines.
- Serve as a positive role model for younger swimmers and the community.
Certification: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Current Lifeguard Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Red Cross Or The Ymca.
First Aid And Cpr Training: Lifeguards Must Be Trained In First Aid And Cpr To Be Prepared To Respond To Emergencies And Provide Immediate Assistance If Needed.
Physical Fitness: As A Physically Demanding Job, Lifeguards Must Be In Excellent Physical Shape And Able To Pass A Swim Test And Other Physical Requirements Set By The State Of New York.
Experience: Previous Experience As A Lifeguard Is Preferred, As It Demonstrates The Candidate's Ability To Effectively Monitor And Respond To Aquatic Emergencies.
Knowledge Of Water Safety: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Water Safety Rules And Protocols, As Well As The Ability To Enforce These Rules To Ensure The Safety Of All Swimmers.
