  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals seeking mental health services.
  2. Develop treatment plans based on assessment results and evidence-based practices.
  3. Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients with a variety of mental health disorders.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care for clients.
  5. Monitor and document client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  6. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of mental health.
  7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with clients.
  8. Serve as a resource and consultant for other staff members and community organizations.
  9. Advocate for the well-being and rights of individuals with mental health disorders.
  10. Participate in departmental meetings and trainings as required.
  11. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and laws related to mental health services.
  12. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions and services provided.
  13. Collaborate with insurance companies and third-party payers to ensure proper billing and reimbursement.
  14. Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  15. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of mental health services.

Job Qualifications
  • A Doctoral Degree In Psychology: The State Of New York Requires All Licensed Psychologists To Have A Doctoral Degree In Psychology From An Accredited Institution.

  • Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Valid License To Practice Psychology In The State Of New York. This Requires Passing The Examination For Professional Practice In Psychology (Eppp) And Meeting Other State-Specific Requirements.

  • Experience: The State Of New York Typically Requires Psychologists To Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Supervised Clinical Experience. This Can Be Gained Through Internships Or Residencies During Or After Completing A Doctoral Program.

  • Knowledge Of State Laws And Regulations: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Laws And Regulations Governing The Practice Of Psychology In The State Of New York. This Includes Knowledge Of Ethical Standards, Confidentiality Laws, And Reporting Requirements.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Psychologists Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Clients, Colleagues, And Other Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Establish Rapport, Listen Actively, And Communicate Complex Psychological Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner.
