As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing art-based activities and programs for our clients, fostering their emotional, social, and physical well-being.   1. Develop and implement art-based activities and programs for clients with disabilities.
  2. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for clients to express themselves through art.
  3. Collaborate with other members of the team to develop holistic treatment plans for clients.
  4. Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using art as a therapeutic tool.
  5. Assess clients' needs and progress, and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
  6. Maintain accurate and organized records of clients' participation and progress.
  7. Stay updated on current research and best practices in art therapy for individuals with disabilities.
  8. Communicate with clients' families and caregivers to provide support and resources.
  9. Collaborate with community organizations and partners to expand art therapy opportunities for clients.
  10. Provide training and education to staff and volunteers on the benefits and techniques of art therapy.
  11. Monitor and maintain art supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for clients.
  12. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in the delivery of art therapy services.
  13. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall mission and goals of the department.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve art therapy programs to meet the changing needs of clients.
  15. Foster a positive and empowering atmosphere for clients, promoting their emotional, social, and physical well-being.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Or Registered Art Therapist (Atr).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Providing Recreational Therapy Services, Specifically In The Field Of Art Therapy.

  • Knowledge Of Various Art Forms And Techniques, As Well As An Understanding Of How To Adapt Them For Individuals With Disabilities Or Special Needs.

  • Familiarity With State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To The Practice Of Recreation Therapy And Art Therapy.
