Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Social Work Assistant 1 to join our team at Pilgrim Psychiatric Center.   1. Provide support to the social work team by assisting with case management tasks, including coordinating appointments, maintaining client records, and completing necessary paperwork.
  2. Serve as a liaison between clients, their families, and the social work team, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.
  3. Conduct initial assessments and assist in developing treatment plans for clients, under the supervision of a licensed social worker.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  5. Monitor clients' progress and report any changes or concerns to the social work team.
  6. Provide emotional support and ensure a welcoming and safe environment for clients.
  7. Assist clients in accessing community resources and services, such as housing, employment, and financial assistance.
  8. Facilitate support groups and educational workshops for clients and their families.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with clients.
  10. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices and advancements in the field of social work.
  11. Uphold the mission and values of NY HELPS and Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work Or Related Field: A Social Work Assistant 1 At Ny Helps Is Required To Have A Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Or A Related Field. This Educational Background Provides The Necessary Theoretical Knowledge And Practical Skills Needed For The Job.

  • Experience In Mental Health Services: Candidates Should Have At Least One Year Of Experience Working In The Mental Health Field, Preferably In A Clinical Or Case Management Setting.
