Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Vulnerable Persons Protection Specialist to join our team at the State of New York. As a Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and protection of vulnerable persons, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.   1. Conduct assessments and investigations of reported cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable individuals.
  2. Collaborate with law enforcement, social services agencies, and other relevant organizations to ensure timely and appropriate interventions for vulnerable persons.
  3. Monitor and evaluate compliance with laws and regulations related to vulnerable populations.
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to protect the rights and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
  5. Provide training and education to staff, volunteers, and community members on identifying and reporting abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all cases and interventions.
  7. Communicate with vulnerable persons and their families to ensure their needs and preferences are taken into consideration.
  8. Advocate for the rights and needs of vulnerable individuals at the local, state, and federal levels.
  9. Stay current on laws, regulations, and best practices related to protecting vulnerable populations.
  10. Provide support and guidance to other professionals involved in the care and protection of vulnerable persons.
  11. Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans for vulnerable individuals in potentially dangerous situations.
  12. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services and resources for vulnerable persons.
  13. Participate in meetings and committees related to vulnerable persons protection.
  14. Maintain a professional and ethical approach in all interactions and decisions.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to enhance the protection and well-being of vulnerable individuals.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Criminal Justice, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working With Vulnerable Populations, Such As Children, Elderly, Or Individuals With Disabilities.

  • Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To The Protection Of Vulnerable Persons.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Work With Individuals From Diverse Backgrounds And Handle Sensitive Situations.

  • Ability To Conduct Investigations, Gather And Analyze Information, And Make Sound Decisions Based On Findings.
