
Assistant Attorney General
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Attorney General to join the State of Oregon in providing legal advice on a variety of matters. This is an opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals and make a lasting impact on our state.The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, be a member of the Oregon State Bar, and have at least five years of experience practicing law. Familiarity with the laws and regulations of the State of Oregon, as well as experience in the areas of civil litigation, administrative law, and/or public policy is highly desirable. We are looking for a candidate with excellent research, writing, and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.This is an exciting opportunity to join the State of Oregon in its mission to provide high-quality legal advice and support. Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality legal advice and support to the State of Oregon on a variety of matters.
- Research and analyze relevant laws and regulations for the State of Oregon.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
- Appear in court and other administrative proceedings on behalf of the State of Oregon.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other attorneys and staff to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Prepare and present oral and written reports to senior staff and government officials.
- Represent the State of Oregon in negotiations and other meetings.
- Support other attorneys and staff in the preparation of legal documents and other tasks.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to government agencies and departments.
