Job Description

The State of Oregon is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefit & Eligibility Worker to join our team. This position is key to providing excellent customer service while ensuring accurate processing and eligibility determinations of state programs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask and prioritize, and have a strong knowledge of state and federal regulations. If you are looking for a challenging position with a wide range of responsibilities, this could be the job for you.To be successful as our Benefit & Eligibility Worker, you must have:• A minimum of two years of experience in benefit and eligibility determination, customer service, and case management• Extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations• The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks• Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment• The ability to work independently and as part of a teamIf you are looking for a rewarding position with a great team, we look forward to your application.

Responsibilities:

  1. Determining eligibility for state programs by following the relevant state and federal regulations.
  2. Providing excellent customer service to those utilizing the state programs.
  3. Developing case management plans that are tailored to the individual needs of the customer.
  4. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all activities related to benefit and eligibility determinations.
  5. Answering inquiries from customers via phone or email.
  6. Troubleshooting technical issues related to the eligibility and benefit process.
  7. Collaborating with other team members to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  8. Assisting in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures for benefit and eligibility determinations.
  9. Proactively identifying areas of improvement in the eligibility and benefit process.
  10. Keeping up to date on state and federal regulations and laws related to benefit and eligibility determinations.
