Job Description

The State of Oregon is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Director for the Oregon Health Authority. We are looking for an experienced leader to join our agency in ensuring health and wellness for all Oregonians. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for public health that will bring an innovative approach to the agency's mission.The Director will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Oregon Health Authority, and for overseeing the day-to-day operations, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Director will also be responsible for leading the development and implementation of new initiatives to improve the health of the citizens of Oregon.We are looking for a candidate with a master’s degree in public health, health administration, or a related field, and at least five years of executive-level experience in public health, health policy, healthcare management, or a related field. The Director of the Oregon Health Authority will be responsible for:

  1. Setting the strategic direction of the agency and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  3. Leading the development and implementation of new initiatives to improve the health of Oregonians.
  4. Building partnerships and working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  5. Developing and maintaining effective communication channels with external partners.
  6. Ensuring the agency is operating efficiently and effectively.
  7. Identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  8. Establishing and monitoring performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
  9. Representing the agency in meetings and conferences.
  10. Developing and managing budgets for the agency.
