Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Natural Resource Specialist to join the State of Oregon's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural resources, ecology, and environmental science, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.The Natural Resource Specialist will be responsible for managing, protecting, and restoring Oregon's natural resources. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to stay current with environmental best practices and regulations. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in natural resources, ecology, environmental science, or a related field• Minimum two years of experience in natural resource protection, management, and/or restoration• Strong understanding of environmental science and regulations• Ability to interpret and apply regulations and best practices• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment• Proficient with MS Office and GIS softwareIf you have a passion for natural resources and a desire to make a difference, we invite you to apply for this rewarding role today!

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement natural resource protection, management, and restoration plans and initiatives.
  2. Monitor and evaluate natural resource activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices.
  3. Collect and analyze data to inform natural resource management decisions.
  4. Provide guidance and technical assistance to stakeholders and customers.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with partners, organizations, and local governments.
  6. Maintain current knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
  7. Prepare and present reports, briefings, and presentations.
  8. Develop and implement strategies for natural resource conservation and restoration.
  9. Create and maintain accurate records and databases.
  10. Assist with other projects and tasks as needed.
