Job Description

The State of Oregon is looking for an experienced Payroll Analyst to join our team and ensure accurate processing of payroll and other related activities. The successful candidate will possess a combination of payroll, finance and accounting experience and be able to efficiently manage and reconcile payroll records. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a commitment to accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. With a focus on customer service and a deep understanding of payroll regulations, the Payroll Analyst will be a trusted advisor to the payroll team.To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess a minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll, finance, and/or accounting. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field is preferred. Experience with payroll and/or accounting software, as well as a comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices, is essential in this role. The ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is also a must. Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure accurate processing of payroll and other related activities.
  2. Manage and reconcile payroll records.
  3. Analyze payroll data and identify discrepancies.
  4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and best practices.
  5. Prepare and process payrolls in a timely and accurate manner.
  6. Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and management.
  7. Assist with the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
  8. Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management.
  9. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  10. Troubleshoot payroll software issues and recommend solutions.
