
Social Service Assistant
The State of Oregon is looking for an enthusiastic Social Service Assistant who is passionate about helping others. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and have good communication skills. The Social Service Assistant will provide support to social service programs, and will ensure that clients receive efficient and effective services.Qualifications required for this position include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and experience in customer service and/or social services. Experience in data entry and accounting is also preferred. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills. The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is also essential.
Responsibilities of a Social Service Assistant:
- Provide support to social service programs by responding to inquiries, providing resources, and advocating for clients.
- Ensure that clients receive efficient and effective services by managing appointments, paperwork, and other administrative tasks.
- Collect and enter data into the appropriate databases accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with budgeting, accounting, and other financial tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other social service professionals to ensure clients' needs are met.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, social service providers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve social service programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with state laws and regulations.
- Monitor client progress and adjust services accordingly.
- Stay up-to-date on current social service policies and procedures.
