- Lead a team of biologists in the development and implementation of effective and sustainable fish and wildlife management plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including government agencies, conservation organizations, and local communities to ensure the protection and preservation of Oregon's diverse fish and wildlife populations.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform management decisions and identify potential issues or challenges.
- Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in fish and wildlife biology and management.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of management plans and make necessary adjustments to ensure the long-term sustainability of natural resources.
- Maintain and manage budgets, contracts, and grants related to fish and wildlife management.
- Represent the agency at public meetings, conferences, and other events to promote conservation and educate the public on fish and wildlife management practices.
- Stay up-to-date on current research and advancements in fish and wildlife management to inform decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with other state and federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions to enhance conservation efforts.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations and policies related to fish and wildlife management.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Biology, Wildlife Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Fish And Wildlife Management, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Role.
In-Depth Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Regarding Fish And Wildlife Conservation.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Agencies And Stakeholders.
Experience In Budget Management, Project Planning, And Data Analysis.
