  1. Lead a team of biologists in the development and implementation of effective and sustainable fish and wildlife management plans.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders including government agencies, conservation organizations, and local communities to ensure the protection and preservation of Oregon's diverse fish and wildlife populations.
  3. Conduct research and analysis to inform management decisions and identify potential issues or challenges.
  4. Provide guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in fish and wildlife biology and management.
  5. Monitor and evaluate the success of management plans and make necessary adjustments to ensure the long-term sustainability of natural resources.
  6. Maintain and manage budgets, contracts, and grants related to fish and wildlife management.
  7. Represent the agency at public meetings, conferences, and other events to promote conservation and educate the public on fish and wildlife management practices.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current research and advancements in fish and wildlife management to inform decision-making processes.
  9. Develop and maintain partnerships with other state and federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions to enhance conservation efforts.
  10. Adhere to all state and federal regulations and policies related to fish and wildlife management.
  11. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment and provide leadership and mentorship to team members.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Biology, Wildlife Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Fish And Wildlife Management, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Role.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Regarding Fish And Wildlife Conservation.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Manage A Team And Collaborate With Other Agencies And Stakeholders.

  • Experience In Budget Management, Project Planning, And Data Analysis.
