
Government Relations Specialist

- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to advance the interests of the State of Texas through government relations efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to promote the priorities and goals of the State.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments at the local, state, and federal levels, and provide timely updates and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand and communicate the potential impact of proposed legislation and regulations on the State.
- Advocate for legislative and regulatory changes that align with the State's priorities and goals.
- Represent the State in meetings, hearings, and other forums to communicate and advocate for the State's interests.
- Develop and maintain a network of contacts and alliances to support the State's government relations efforts.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communications to educate stakeholders and decision-makers about the State's positions and priorities.
- Stay informed about current political and policy trends, and provide insights and recommendations to inform the State's government relations strategy.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of government processes and procedures to effectively navigate and influence decision-making.
- Collaborate with external partners and coalitions to advance shared goals and objectives.
- Monitor and track relevant legislation, regulations, and policies, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in all government relations activities.
- Continuously evaluate and adjust government relations strategies to maximize impact and effectiveness.
- Represent the State in a professional and ethical manner at all times, promoting a positive image and reputation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop and implement effective advocacy campaigns.
- Participate in relevant conferences, events, and other networking opportunities to enhance relationships and promote the State's interests.

Bachelor's Degree In Political Science, Public Affairs, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Government Relations Or Legislative Affairs.
Strong Knowledge Of State And Federal Government Processes And Procedures.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Government Officials And Stakeholders.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Advocating For Policy Initiatives And Managing Complex Political Issues.
