Job Description

  1. Conduct data analysis and surveillance of infectious diseases in the state of Texas using various data sources and statistical methods.
  2. Monitor and track trends and patterns of infectious diseases to identify potential outbreaks and inform public health response.
  3. Develop and maintain databases and data systems for the collection, storage, and analysis of infectious disease data.
  4. Collaborate with other public health professionals and agencies to ensure accurate and timely reporting of infectious diseases.
  5. Provide technical expertise and guidance to local health departments and healthcare providers on infectious disease data collection and reporting.
  6. Conduct epidemiological investigations to identify sources and risk factors of infectious diseases.
  7. Communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including government officials, healthcare providers, and the general public.
  8. Develop and implement data-driven interventions and policies to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases.
  9. Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of infectious diseases and apply this knowledge to data analysis and public health strategies.
  10. Train and educate staff and community members on infectious disease surveillance and response protocols.
  11. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding infectious disease reporting and data privacy.
  12. Maintain accurate and organized records of infectious disease data and activities.
  13. Participate in emergency preparedness and response efforts related to infectious diseases.
  14. Collaborate with other epidemiologists and public health professionals to enhance data collection and analysis methods.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve infectious disease data systems and processes.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree In Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working With Infectious Disease Data And Conducting Epidemiological Analysis.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Statistical Methods And Software For Data Analysis, Such As Sas, R, Or Stata.

  • Familiarity With Public Health Surveillance Systems And Protocols For Reporting Infectious Diseases.

  • Excellent Communication Skills And Ability To Collaborate With Interdisciplinary Teams And Present Findings To Stakeholders.
