If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Bookmobile Librarian at the State of Utah.As a Bookmobile Librarian, you will have the unique opportunity to bring the library directly to people in underserved communities, schools, and events throughout the state. You will be responsible for curating and maintaining a diverse collection of books, providing library services and resources, and promoting literacy and lifelong learning.To be successful in this role, you must have a Master's degree in Library Science or a related field, along with a valid driver's license and the ability to operate and maintain a bookmobile.   1. Curate and maintain a diverse collection of books for the bookmobile, ensuring that it is well-stocked and reflective of the community's interests and needs.
  2. Operate and maintain the bookmobile, including driving it to various locations and conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure its safety and functionality.
  3. Provide library services and resources to patrons, including assistance with finding and checking out books, answering reference questions, and helping patrons navigate digital resources.
  4. Promote literacy and lifelong learning by developing and implementing engaging and interactive programs and activities for patrons of all ages.
  5. Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other partners to bring the bookmobile to underserved areas and events throughout the state.
  6. Keep accurate records of bookmobile visits, circulation statistics, and program attendance to track the impact of the bookmobile and make necessary adjustments.
  7. Create and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and respected.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current trends and best practices in librarianship and incorporate them into the bookmobile's services and programming.
  9. Attend regular staff meetings and trainings to stay informed about library policies, procedures, and goals.
  10. Act as an ambassador for the library and the bookmobile, promoting its services and resources to the community and advocating for its importance and impact.

Job Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree In Library And Information Science From An Ala-Accredited Program.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Public Library Or Bookmobile Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Current Trends And Best Practices In Bookmobile Services And Outreach.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Interact With Diverse Populations And Communities.

  • Ability To Drive And Maintain A Bookmobile Vehicle, Including A Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.
