We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Museum Exhibition Preparator. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help bring our collections to life by assisting in the design, construction, and installation of our museum exhibitions.   1. Assist in the design and planning of museum exhibitions, including creating layouts, selecting materials, and determining display techniques.
  2. Collaborate with curators, designers, and other team members to ensure that exhibition concepts and designs align with the department's mission and goals.
  3. Help construct and install museum exhibits, including handling and displaying artifacts and artwork, painting and installing walls and platforms, and creating labels and signage.
  4. Ensure the safety and preservation of artifacts and artwork by following proper handling and installation procedures.
  5. Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of exhibition preparation, including accuracy in labeling and placement of objects.
  6. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of exhibition spaces, including cleaning, repairing, and updating displays as needed.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in museum exhibition design and installation.
  8. Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and external partners to ensure smooth and successful execution of exhibitions.
  9. Contribute to the promotion and marketing of exhibitions and the department as a whole, including assisting with social media and other outreach efforts.
  10. Uphold the values and mission of the State of Utah's Department of Heritage and Arts in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree In Fine Arts, Museum Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Museum Or Gallery Setting, With A Focus On Exhibition Preparation, Installation, And Maintenance.

  • Knowledge Of Proper Handling, Packing, And Transportation Of Art Objects.

  • Familiarity With Museum Standards And Best Practices For Conservation, Lighting, And Display Techniques.

  • Strong Organizational And Time Management Skills, With The Ability To Handle Multiple Projects And Deadlines Simultaneously.
