- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of individuals with disabilities to determine their vocational needs and goals.
- Develop individualized plans for each client in accordance with their abilities, interests, and career goals.
- Provide counseling and guidance to clients in areas such as career exploration, job training, and job placement.
- Collaborate with community resources and employers to identify suitable job opportunities for clients.
- Monitor and track client progress and make necessary adjustments to plans as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with disability laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all aspects of vocational rehabilitation services.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and progress.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and develop action plans.
- Advocate for clients and their needs, both within the agency and in the community.
- Provide support and guidance to clients in navigating the job application process, including resume building and interview preparation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve vocational rehabilitation programs and services.
- Act as a resource and mentor to other team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude towards clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Meet productivity and performance goals set by the agency.
- Uphold the mission and values of the State of Utah's Vocational Rehabilitation Program.
Bachelor's Degree In Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, Preferably In A State Agency Or Similar Setting.
Knowledge Of Federal And State Laws And Regulations Related To Vocational Rehabilitation, Disability Rights, And Employment Services.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With A Diverse Population Of Individuals With Disabilities And Employers.
Certification As A Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (Crc) Or Eligibility To Obtain Within 6 Months Of Hire.
