- Develop and implement conservation programs and initiatives to promote sustainable agriculture practices and protect natural resources.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders on agricultural practices and regulations.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to identify conservation needs and develop customized plans.
- Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to coordinate and leverage resources for conservation efforts.
- Stay updated on the latest agriculture and conservation research, trends, and developments to inform program decisions and recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct outreach and education activities to raise awareness and promote the importance of conservation in the agricultural community.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of program activities and progress.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of cost-share agreements and contracts with program participants.
- Respond to inquiries and provide timely and accurate information to program participants and the public.
- Represent the agency at meetings, conferences, and events related to agriculture and conservation.
- Collaborate with other Agricultural Specialists and team members to support and enhance program goals and objectives.
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to agriculture and conservation.
- Continuously evaluate and improve program processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist with budget planning and management for conservation programs and initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree In Agriculture, Biology, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience Working In The Agricultural Industry, With A Focus On Regulatory Compliance And Inspection.
Knowledge Of State And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Agriculture, Such As Pesticide Use, Food Safety, And Animal Health.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Farmers, Government Officials, And The Public.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Data And Make Informed Decisions.
