
Assistant Attorney General

- Provide legal counsel and representation to the State of Virginia in various legal matters and cases.
- Uphold the highest level of ethical standards and promote justice for all in all legal proceedings.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of legal issues and present findings to senior attorneys.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and motions, for submission to courts or other legal entities.
- Represent the State of Virginia in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to strategize and develop effective legal arguments and defenses.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal cases.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedent to inform legal strategies and decisions.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Act as a liaison between the Attorney General's office and other state agencies, law enforcement, and the public.
- Provide guidance and advice to government officials and agencies on legal matters.
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and legal staff.
- Participate in and contribute to professional development opportunities to enhance legal skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate dedication to public service and a commitment to serving the citizens of Virginia.
Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School.
Active Membership In Good Standing With The Virginia State Bar.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Practicing Law, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Virginia State Laws And Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Groups And Handle Sensitive Legal Matters.
