Current State Certification: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Certification As An Emt Or Paramedic From The State Of Virginia, And Must Maintain This Certification Throughout Their Employment.
Knowledge Of Emergency Medical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Be Well-Versed In The Latest Emergency Medical Procedures And Be Able To Operate And Maintain Medical Equipment And Supplies.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As Emergency Medical Personnel, Emts And Paramedics Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Family Members, And Other Medical Professionals In High-Stress Situations.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: Emts And Paramedics Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift And Move Patients And Equipment In Emergency Situations. They Must Also Have The Stamina To Work Long Shifts And Respond To Emergency Calls At Any Time.
