  1. Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent for various positions within the State of Virginia.
  2. Identify and evaluate potential candidates through various sourcing methods, including job postings, job fairs, and networking events.
  3. Conduct thorough interviews and screenings to assess candidates' qualifications and fit for specific roles.
  4. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance on the recruitment process.
  5. Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate information and the recruitment process.
  7. Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations related to recruitment and hiring practices.
  8. Act as a liaison between the State of Virginia and external recruitment agencies.
  9. Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including completing necessary paperwork and conducting orientation sessions.
  10. Monitor and track the progress of newly hired employees to ensure a smooth transition into their roles.
  11. Continuously assess and improve the recruitment and hiring process to attract diverse and qualified candidates.
  12. Serve as a representative of the State of Virginia at job fairs and community events to promote employment opportunities and build relationships with potential candidates.
  13. Collaborate with other HR staff to develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives within the agency.
  14. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  15. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including candidates, hiring managers, and HR colleagues.
  16. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in recruitment and staffing to enhance the agency's hiring process.
  17. Participate in special projects and initiatives related to staffing and recruitment, as assigned by superiors.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources Or Related Field: A Staffing Coordinator At The State Of Virginia Is Expected To Have A Strong Understanding Of Hr Principles And Practices. A Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field Demonstrates A Solid Foundation In These Areas.

  • Previous Experience In Recruitment And Staffing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience In Recruitment And Staffing, Preferably In A Government Or Public Sector Setting. This Experience Should Include Sourcing, Interviewing, And Onboarding Of Employees.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Staffing Coordinator, It Is Crucial To Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Interact With Hiring Managers, Candidates, And Other Hr Professionals. The Ability To Build Relationships And Collaborate With Various Stakeholders Is Essential.

  • Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills: The State Of Virginia Receives A High Volume Of Job Applications, And A Staffing Coordinator Must Be Able To Handle Multiple Tasks And Maintain Accuracy In A Fast-Paced Environment.
