Mechanical Engineer

Designs and analyzes sensor packaging for integration with high reliability imaging systems. This position also supports all aspects of sensor package assembly, test, and integration with knowledge of materials, thermal, and mechanical performance in extreme cryogenic environments. Participates in the decision making for the design of individual components. Performs prototyping, assembly simulation, tolerance stack calculations, technical documentation, tool design and fixture design. Executes the mechanical design tasks on schedule and within cost and scope. Develops process and assembly flows to achieve fully traceable, low particulate and low outgassing sensor assemblies for optical integration. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
