- Patrol campus grounds and surrounding areas to maintain a visible presence and deter criminal activity.
- Respond to emergency calls and incidents, including but not limited to theft, assaults, and accidents.
- Enforce all federal, state, and local laws, as well as university policies and regulations.
- Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence to build strong cases for prosecution.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities, incidents, and reports.
- Collaborate with other campus departments and law enforcement agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective response to any situations.
- Provide assistance and support to individuals in need, including providing first aid or directing them to appropriate resources.
- Conduct safety and security assessments of campus facilities and make recommendations for improvements.
- Participate in trainings and drills to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Develop positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff to foster a safe and welcoming campus community.
- Serve as a role model and mentor for other officers and student workers.
- Uphold the department's values of integrity, professionalism, and service to the community.
- Stay up-to-date with new laws, regulations, and techniques in law enforcement and security.
- Actively participate in community outreach initiatives and events to promote safety and build trust with the campus community.
- Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Sworn Law Enforcement Officer In A Municipal, County Or State Agency.
Valid Pennsylvania Act 120 Municipal Police Officer Certification Or Equivalent Certification From Another State.
Ability To Pass Thorough Background Investigation, Including Criminal History, Credit And Driving Records Checks.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Populations On A College Campus.
Knowledge Of Current Law Enforcement Techniques, Procedures, And Best Practices, As Well As Familiarity With Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations.
