  1. Oversee and manage the nursing department at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  2. Develop and implement patient care policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  3. Lead and mentor a team of nurses, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care and patient satisfaction.
  4. Collaborate with other department heads and medical staff to coordinate patient care and improve overall hospital operations.
  5. Monitor and evaluate nursing staff performance, providing feedback and implementing corrective action when necessary.
  6. Work closely with the Chief Nursing Officer and other senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the nursing department.
  7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to nursing care.
  8. Develop and manage departmental budget, making sure resources are allocated appropriately and expenses are within budget.
  9. Stay up-to-date with advancements in nursing practices and technology, and implement relevant changes to improve patient care.
  10. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among nursing staff.
  11. Handle any patient or staff concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner, working to resolve issues and maintain patient satisfaction.
  12. Participate in recruitment, hiring, and training of nursing staff, ensuring a competent and dedicated team.
  13. Maintain accurate and thorough records of nursing department activities, including patient outcomes and process improvement initiatives.
  14. Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, encouraging staff to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing patient care.
  15. Represent Shelby Baptist Medical Center and Tenet Healthcare in a professional and positive manner at community events and professional conferences.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.

  • Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of Alabama.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Progressive Leadership Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Medical Center.

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Nursing Best Practices, Healthcare Regulations, And Patient Care Standards.

  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Interdisciplinary Teams.
