Oversee and manage a team of histology technicians to ensure efficient and accurate processing of tissue samples.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge of histology procedures.
Collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of necessary supplies and equipment.
Conduct regular quality control checks to identify and address any issues or errors.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in histology techniques and technologies, and implement them where appropriate.
Handle and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in departmental meetings and provide regular updates and reports on team performance and accomplishments.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes to increase efficiency and productivity.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or Related Field: A Group Leader In Histology At Tenet Healthcare Should Possess A Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology Or A Related Field Such As Biology, Anatomy, Or Medical Technology. This Educational Background Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Knowledge Base In The Principles And Techniques Of Histology.
Htl Or Ht Certification: Candidates For This Position Should Have Either A Histotechnologist (Htl) Or Histotechnician (Ht) Certification From The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp). This Certification Demonstrates That The Individual Has Met The Necessary Education And Experience Requirements And Has Passed A Comprehensive Exam.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In A Histology Laboratory: Tenet Healthcare Seeks Candidates With At Least 3 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory. This Experience Should Include Performing A Variety Of Histology Techniques, Such As Tissue Processing, Embedding, Sectioning, Staining, And Microscopy.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: As A Group Leader, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Supervising A Team Of Histotechnicians And Ensuring The Smooth Operation Of The Histology Laboratory. Therefore, Strong Leadership And Communication Skills Are Essential For This Role.
Knowledge Of Industry Regulations And Quality Assurance: Tenet Healthcare Places A High Value On Compliance With Industry Regulations And Maintaining High-Quality Standards In All Areas Of Operation. A Group Leader In Histology Should Be Familiar With Regulatory Agencies Such As Clia And Cap, As Well As Quality Assurance Processes And Procedures.
