Perform neurodiagnostic tests: Conduct a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including electroencephalograms (EEGs), electromyograms (EMGs), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and evoked potentials (EPs), to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.
Monitor patient safety and comfort: Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during neurodiagnostic procedures by monitoring vital signs, adjusting equipment as needed, and responding to any patient concerns or discomfort.
Maintain equipment and supplies: Regularly inspect and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed. Keep an inventory of supplies and order new materials when necessary.
Record and interpret results: Accurately record and interpret the results of neurodiagnostic tests, including any abnormalities or significant findings, and report them to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Collaborate with healthcare team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care for patients.
Educate patients and families: Educate patients and their families about neurodiagnostic procedures, including what to expect and how to prepare, to help alleviate any anxiety or concerns they may have.
Follow safety and infection control protocols: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Stay current with industry developments: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in neurodiagnostic technology and techniques to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
Maintain patient confidentiality: Respect and maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations and other privacy laws.
Participate in training and professional development: Attend training and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in neurodiagnostics, and maintain required certifications and licenses.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree In Neurodiagnostic Technology Or Related Field: A Solid Educational Foundation Is Essential For A Neurodiagnostic Technologist To Perform Their Duties Effectively. A Bachelor's Degree In Neurodiagnostic Technology Or A Related Field Provides The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Diagnostic Tests And Interpret Results Accurately.
Certification From The American Board Of Registration Of Electroencephalographic And Evoked Potential Technologists (Abret): Abret Certification Is A Highly Recognized And Preferred Qualification For A Neurodiagnostic Technologist At Tenet Healthcare. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competence And Expertise In Performing Neurodiagnostic Tests.
Experience In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting: Experience Working In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting Is A Key Qualification For A Neurodiagnostic Technologist At Tenet Healthcare. This Experience Provides Familiarity With Hospital Protocols, Equipment, And Procedures, And Ensures The Technician Is Able To Work Efficiently In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment.
Knowledge Of Various Diagnostic Procedures And Equipment: A Neurodiagnostic Technologist At Tenet Healthcare Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of A Variety Of Diagnostic Procedures And Equipment Used In The Field. This Includes Eeg, Emg, Nerve Conduction Studies, And Evoked Potentials, As Well As The Ability To Troubleshoot And Maintain Equipment.
