Sterilize and maintain medical equipment and supplies according to established guidelines and procedures.
Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards.
Inspect equipment and supplies for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and labeling of sterilized items.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and efficient delivery of sterile equipment and supplies.
Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices in sterile processing techniques.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment as needed.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all sterilization processes and activities.

Job Qualifications

Certified Sterile Processing Technician - Applicants Should Hold A Current Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd) Or International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm).
Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques - Candidates Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Various Sterilization Methods, Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Hydrogen Peroxide.
Familiarity With Medical Equipment - A Strong Understanding Of Medical Equipment And Instruments Is Essential For This Role, Including How To Properly Clean, Disinfect, And Maintain Various Types Of Equipment.
Attention To Detail - The Sterile Processing Technician Is Responsible For Ensuring That All Equipment And Instruments Are Properly Cleaned And Sterilized According To Strict Protocols. Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure Patient Safety And Prevent Infections.
