Materials Test Technician

Perform a wide variety of tests on a broad spectrum of materials. Test competence should be exhibited in any of the following aspects. Mechanical Test: torque, tension, compression, shear, hardness, peel, fatigue and high strain rate testing, etc. Environmental and Weathering: corrosion, UV-weathering, thermal, humidity, chemical compatibility testing and thermal shock, etc. Characterization: SEM-EDS, XRF, DSC, OES, TGA, FTIR, rheometry, MFI, optical microscopy, profilometry, confocal microscopy and thermal conductivity, etc. Independently and accurately complete tests, stratify results and issue reports for approval. Create and manage ‘test incident’ documentation to facilitate and track corrective actions. Management of laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated and serviced. Develop, author and ensure conformance to laboratory standard operating procedures.
