Job Description

Tesla is seeking a Policy Advisor to join the Policy team. The assigned territory for this position will be the Mountain West United States. In addition, the Policy Advisor will spend substantial time supporting internal teammates at the GigaFactory Nevada, ensuring hiring needs and available training programs support operations among other responsibilities. Coordinating across teams to support and implement policy-related Gigafactory Nevada efforts. Coalition building and outreach within the sustainable transportation and energy communities. Tracking and analyzing legislative and regulatory policy proposals at the state, regional and municipal levels. Developing and negotiating policy proposals and business development opportunities, advocating on behalf of Tesla to parties, stakeholders and state leaders, as well as engaging community, industry and related organizations.

Job Qualifications

  • 7 years’ experience with state or federal government

  • MBA, MPP, JD or other advanced degree preferred

  • Knowledge of transportation and electricity policy topics with particular focus on electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure

  • Must be able to self-manage and committed to working in a fast-paced environment
