
Archaeological Field Technician
Tetra Tech is searching for an experienced and motivated Archaeological Field Technician to join our team! We are looking for someone who is passionate about archaeology and eager to work in a fast-paced environment. As an Archaeological Field Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in the identification, documentation, and preservation of archaeological resources on projects throughout the United States. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, a willingness to work in a variety of environments, and a dedication to providing superior customer service. The ideal candidate should have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or Historic Preservation, and at least one year of experience in the field. Responsibilities of an Archaeological Field Technician:
- Assist in the identification, documentation, and preservation of archaeological resources on projects throughout the United States.
- Manage all field activities, including survey, excavation, and data collection.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for management.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, clients, and colleagues.
- Manage field equipment, record data, and assist with technical analyses.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
- Monitor project progress and provide feedback to management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preservation plans.
- Participate in public outreach activities to promote archaeological research and education.
