Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to help protect our nation’s cultural resources by conducting archaeological surveys and completing fieldwork. As an Archaeological Field Technician, you must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of archaeological regulations. Responsibilites:

  1. Conduct archaeological surveys and fieldwork.
  2. Collect and analyze data to ensure compliance with archaeological regulations.
  3. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to colleagues, stakeholders, and the public.
  4. Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to document fieldwork and analyze archaeological data.
  5. Maintain accurate records of all archaeological collections.
  6. Participate in team meetings to discuss project objectives and progress.
  7. Monitor project timelines and budgets.
  8. Collaborate with other archaeological professionals to ensure a successful project.
  9. Respond to inquiries from the public relating to archaeological research.
  10. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior archaeologists.
