Job Description

Tetra Tech is looking for a GIS Technician to join our team. As a GIS Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support and utilizing geographic information systems (GIS) to provide accurate maps and related data for projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in GIS technology, an aptitude for problem-solving, and a passion for data analysis. We are looking for a self-motivated and creative individual who is eager to take on challenges and able to work both independently and collaboratively.The successful candidate must have a degree or certificate in GIS, computer science, or geography, as well as a strong understanding of GIS concepts and practices. Knowledge of the ESRI product suite, including ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online, is essential. Experience with Python scripting, web mapping, and mobile GIS technologies is a plus. The candidate must also have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support for GIS projects.
  2. Utilize GIS to create and maintain accurate maps and related data.
  3. Troubleshoot GIS-related issues and develop solutions.
  4. Develop GIS applications and web maps.
  5. Work with other departments to ensure GIS data is up-to-date.
  6. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  7. Use Python scripting and mobile GIS technologies.
  8. Manage data analysis and interpretation.
  9. Maintain detailed records of GIS projects.
  10. Develop and maintain GIS training materials.
