GIS Technician

Tetra Tech is looking for an experienced and motivated GIS Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in GIS and related technologies, extensive experience in data manipulation and analysis, and be able to work independently. This role will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work.To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, or a related field, as well as a minimum of two years of experience in GIS. You should be comfortable working with various GIS software packages, including ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other related products. You should also be able to work with vector and raster data sets, and have a working knowledge of geographic information systems and related technologies. Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain GIS databases and related software applications.
2. Perform data manipulation and analysis to develop and interpret GIS data sets.
3. Develop maps, charts, and other visual representations of GIS data.
4. Complete GIS projects from start to finish, including the creation of reports and presentations.
5. Work collaboratively with other GIS professionals to complete complex tasks.
6. Develop and maintain GIS data standards and procedures.
7. Provide technical support to customers, colleagues, and staff.
8. Train and mentor new GIS professionals.
9. Stay current on industry developments and best practices.
10. Monitor and audit GIS databases for accuracy and integrity.
