GIS Technician

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced GIS Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing GIS data management, analysis, and mapping services to support our projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong technical background, an eye for detail, and a passion for GIS.We are looking for an individual with a degree in GIS, geography, or a related field and a minimum of two years of GIS experience. Knowledge of ArcGIS, as well as other software packages such as MapInfo, FME, and Global Mapper, is essential. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities:

1. Provide GIS data management, analysis, and mapping services to support projects.
2. Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal GIS standards and regulations.
3. Utilize software packages such as ArcGIS, MapInfo, FME, and Global Mapper to create and edit GIS maps.
4. Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
5. Maintain accurate records and document processes.
6. Troubleshoot and resolve GIS-related issues.
7. Train and support other staff members in GIS-related activities.
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure GIS data needs are met.
9. Create presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
10. Stay current on GIS technology and best practices.
