Tetra Tech is searching for an experienced, motivated Wildlife Field Technician to join our professional team. This position is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about wildlife conservation and who has the skills and experience necessary to excel in the field. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the principles of wildlife biology, ecology, and field techniques, and a commitment to excellence in the execution of field tasks.The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications: an undergraduate degree in wildlife biology or a related field; experience in the field of wildlife biology; proficiency with the use of computers and associated software programs; and excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment is also essential. Working knowledge of federal and state regulations and best management practices related to wildlife and their habitats is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collect data in the field related to wildlife biology, ecology, and field techniques.
- Utilize computers and associated software programs to organize and analyze data.
- Communicate research results to team members and supervisors.
- Follow federal and state regulations and best management practices related to wildlife and their habitats.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Monitor wildlife populations and their habitats.
- Document research activities and results.
- Assist in the development of wildlife management plans.
- Participate in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release efforts.
- Remain current on new developments and research in the field.
