- Develop and implement strategic plans for library services in alignment with the university's mission and goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the library, including budget management, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the library and ensure that services and resources are accessible to all students.
- Collaborate with faculty and other university departments to integrate library services into the curriculum and promote information literacy.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in library services and technology, and make recommendations for implementation.
- Lead and mentor a team of librarians and staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external organizations and vendors to enhance library services and resources.
- Advocate for the library and its resources to university administration, faculty, and students.
- Evaluate and improve existing library services, as well as identify and implement new services to meet the evolving needs of students and faculty.
- Serve as a liaison to academic departments and participate in university committees and projects as needed.
- Collaborate with other university libraries and participate in regional and national library consortia.
- Promote and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment for all library patrons.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to library services.
- Prepare and present reports on library services and operations to university administration and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the overall success and reputation of the university by actively participating in university events and initiatives.
Master's Degree In Library And Information Science (Mlis) Or Equivalent From An Ala-Accredited Institution.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Professional Experience In An Academic Library Setting, With At Least 3 Years In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role.
Demonstrated Knowledge And Expertise In Current And Emerging Library Trends, Technologies, And Best Practices.
Proven Track Record Of Successful Project Management, Budget Management, And Strategic Planning.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate Effectively With Faculty, Staff, And Students From Diverse Backgrounds.
