Freight Receiving Associate

- Receive and unload incoming freight shipments from various carriers.
- Inspect and verify accuracy of incoming merchandise against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Sort and organize merchandise according to department and location within the store.
- Label and tag merchandise with appropriate pricing and product information.
- Use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move and transport merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members and managers to ensure timely and accurate receipt of merchandise.
- Report any damaged or missing merchandise to appropriate parties.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols while handling and storing merchandise.
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive and productive work environment.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and efficiency in receiving processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Strong Knowledge Of Freight Receiving Processes: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Freight Receiving Process, Including Handling, Sorting, And Organizing Incoming Shipments. This Includes Knowledge Of Safety Protocols, Equipment Operation, And Inventory Management.
Physical Stamina And Strength: Freight Receiving Associates Are Required To Lift And Move Heavy Packages And Materials On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Physical Strength And Stamina To Handle These Tasks Efficiently And Safely.
Attention To Detail: A Key Aspect Of This Role Is Accurately Verifying The Contents Of Incoming Shipments Against Purchase Orders And Ensuring They Are Properly Labeled And Stored. The Candidate Should Have Strong Attention To Detail To Prevent Any Shipping Errors Or Discrepancies.
Communication And Teamwork Skills: Freight Receiving Associates Must Work Closely With Other Team Members, Such As Warehouse And Store Staff, To Ensure Timely And Efficient Delivery Of Goods.
