- Receive and process incoming freight shipments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure accurate and organized inventory management by labeling, stocking, and rotating merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to safety and security protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete tasks according to daily priorities.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and store associates to resolve any issues or discrepancies with shipments.
- Utilize equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move and organize merchandise as needed.
- Assist customers with locating and loading merchandise, providing excellent customer service and product knowledge.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and inventory control measures.
- Proactively identify and report any damaged, defective, or missing merchandise to management.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and efficiency in the receiving and stocking of merchandise.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Experience In Receiving And Handling Freight: The Ideal Candidate For A Freight/Receiving Associate Position At The Home Depot Should Have Prior Experience In A Similar Role, With A Strong Understanding Of Receiving And Handling Freight Shipments.
Ability To Operate Equipment And Machinery: This Role Requires The Use Of Various Equipment And Machinery, Such As Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, And Hand Trucks. Candidates Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Proficiency In Operating These Tools Safely And Efficiently.
Attention To Detail: Freight/Receiving Associates Are Responsible For Accurately Checking And Recording Incoming Shipments, As Well As Ensuring That They Are Properly Organized And Stored. The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Success In This Role.
