
Freight/Receiving Associate

- Receive and process incoming shipments of merchandise in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verify the accuracy of received merchandise and report any discrepancies to management.
- Organize and stock received merchandise in designated areas.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of merchandise to the sales floor for customer purchase.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, including disposing of packaging materials and keeping work areas free of clutter.
- Communicate with team members and management regarding any issues or concerns with merchandise deliveries.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move and store merchandise.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Assist with inventory control by conducting regular cycle counts and reporting any discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting with loading and unloading merchandise for customers.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, punctuality, and dress code.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor while interacting with customers and team members.
- Assist with other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
Physical Strength And Stamina: The Job Of A Freight/Receiving Associate Requires The Ability To Lift Heavy Objects And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.
Attention To Detail: Freight/Receiving Associates Are Responsible For Checking And Verifying The Accuracy Of Incoming And Outgoing Shipments. They Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Merchandise Is Properly Received, Stored, And Shipped.
Organizational Skills: The Home Depot Receives A Large Volume Of Merchandise On A Daily Basis. Freight/Receiving Associates Must Be Able To Organize And Prioritize Incoming Shipments, As Well As Maintain A Clean And Organized Stockroom Or Receiving Area.
Teamwork And Communication: As Part Of A Larger Store Team, Freight/Receiving Associates Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Other Associates And Managers. They Should Also Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Others To Ensure The Timely And Accurate Receipt And Distribution Of Merchandise.
Time Management Skills: The Ability To Work Efficiently And Manage Time Effectively Is Crucial For Freight/Receiving Associates. They Must Be Able To Prioritize Tasks, Meet Deadlines, And Work In A Fast-Paced Environment To Ensure That Merchandise Is Received And Made Available For Sale In A Timely Manner.
