Welcome to The Home Depot! We are currently seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Freight/Receiving Associate. As a Freight/Receiving Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our store's inventory is stocked and ready for our customers. We are looking for someone who is dedicated, detail-oriented, and has a strong work ethic.   1. Receive and process incoming shipments of merchandise from suppliers and vendors.
  2. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all received products by verifying against purchase orders and packing slips.
  3. Sort and organize received products in designated storage areas.
  4. Label and tag products for easy identification and tracking.
  5. Stock and replenish merchandise on the sales floor in a timely manner.
  6. Assist with inventory management and control by conducting regular stock checks and reporting any discrepancies.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  8. Collaborate with sales associates to ensure proper placement and presentation of merchandise on the sales floor.
  9. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting customers with locating products.
  10. Assist with loading and unloading of merchandise for customers and delivery trucks.
  11. Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner.
  12. Communicate any inventory shortages or issues to management in a timely manner.
  13. Follow company policies and procedures, including safety regulations, at all times.
  14. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve job knowledge and skills.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude, representing the company’s values and image.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Warehouse Operations: A Freight/Receiving Associate At The Home Depot Should Have Prior Experience In Warehouse Operations, Including Receiving, Sorting, And Stocking Inventory.

  • Physical Fitness And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: This Role Requires The Ability To Lift And Move Heavy Objects, Such As Large Boxes And Building Materials. Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Handle The Physical Demands Of The Job.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Freight/Receiving Associate, Accuracy Is Crucial In Receiving And Stocking Merchandise. Candidates Should Have A Strong Attention To Detail To Ensure The Correct Items Are Received And Stocked In The Appropriate Locations.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: Working In A Warehouse Setting Can Be Hazardous, So Candidates Should Have Knowledge Of Safety Procedures And Be Able To Follow Them To Ensure A Safe Work Environment.

  • Strong Communication Skills: This Role Involves Working With Other Team Members, As Well As Communicating With Customers, So Strong Communication Skills Are Necessary. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Others, Both Verbally And In Writing.
