
Extension Educator, Agriculture and Natural Resources

- Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on sustainable agriculture and natural resource management to farmers, ranchers, and individuals in the community.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for agricultural and natural resource topics, staying up-to-date on current research and trends.
- Collaborate with other Extension Educators and community partners to identify educational needs and develop targeted programming to address those needs.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify the educational priorities and challenges of the local community and adapt programming accordingly.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials, including workshops, demonstrations, webinars, and publications, to effectively deliver educational programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, ranchers, and other community members to better understand their needs and provide tailored support and resources.
- Provide one-on-one consultations and technical assistance to individuals seeking guidance on sustainable agriculture and natural resource management practices.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local and state agencies, organizations, and businesses to enhance the reach and impact of Extension programming.
- Utilize various media platforms to promote educational programs and resources, and engage with the community through newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
- Keep accurate records of program participation, impact, and feedback, and use data to continuously improve and evaluate programming.
- Seek out and pursue grant opportunities to support and expand educational programming in the field of sustainable agriculture and natural resource management.
- Represent Ohio State University and Extension at local, state, and national conferences, workshops, and events related to agriculture and natural resources.
- Adhere to university policies and procedures, as well as Extension program guidelines, to ensure the quality and integrity of educational programs and materials.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Agriculture, Natural Resources, Or A Related Field.
Experience In Conducting Educational Programs And Workshops Related To Agriculture And Natural Resources.
Knowledge Of Current Trends And Issues In The Agriculture And Natural Resources Industry.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work With Diverse Audiences.
Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Maintaining Partnerships With Local Stakeholders And Community Organizations.
