Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System seeks an experienced and compassionate Cardiology Clinic Medical Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals. In this critical role, you will provide a variety of services to patients and healthcare providers in the Cardiology Clinic. We are looking for a compassionate individual who is highly organized and has excellent communication skills.You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience as a medical assistant. The ideal candidate has a certificate or degree from an accredited medical assisting program and current certification from one of the following organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants, National Healthcareer Association, or National Center for Competency Testing. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player with a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care.We thank you for your interest in this role and look forward to your application.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet patients and provide necessary information and forms.
  2. Assist providers in performing examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  3. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
  4. Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
  5. Collect patient blood and other lab specimens and ensure their proper handling and transport.
  6. Monitor patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
  7. Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient records.
  8. Manage and update patient medical histories.
  9. Provide patient education and instructions on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
  10. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and healthcare providers.
