
Oncology Nurse- BMT Treatment
The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse- BMT Treatment to join our highly skilled nursing team. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering patient-centered care with compassion and empathy.The ideal candidate will possess a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and a minimum of two years of experience in an oncology setting, preferably with a focus in BMT treatment. In addition to having excellent clinical skills, the candidate should also have the ability to think critically, prioritize effectively, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure. The successful candidate will be a team player who is also able to work independently. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to oncology patients.
- Administer chemotherapy and BMT treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patient’s progress and assess any adverse reactions to medications.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized plans of care.
- Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and other aspects of care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and other professional development activities.
- Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
- Utilize problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify potential issues and develop solutions.
