Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse- BMT Treatment to join our highly skilled nursing team. This is a great opportunity to join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to providing excellent care to our patients. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to delivering patient-centered care with compassion and empathy.The ideal candidate will possess a current Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and a minimum of two years of experience in an oncology setting, preferably with a focus in BMT treatment. In addition to having excellent clinical skills, the candidate should also have the ability to think critically, prioritize effectively, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure. The successful candidate will be a team player who is also able to work independently. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide compassionate and patient-centered care to oncology patients.
  2. Administer chemotherapy and BMT treatments according to established protocols.
  3. Monitor patient’s progress and assess any adverse reactions to medications.
  4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized plans of care.
  5. Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and other aspects of care.
  6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  7. Participate in team meetings and other professional development activities.
  8. Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
  10. Utilize problem solving and critical thinking skills to identify potential issues and develop solutions.
