Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly motivated Patient Care Assistant to join our team. We are a premier academic health system committed to providing the highest level of patient care. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing patient care activities, assisting with daily living activities, and providing necessary support to the nursing staff.To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. A CNA or PCT certification is preferred. You must also have a passion for providing quality patient care, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to providing a positive patient experience. The ability to work independently and with a team is essential. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide patient care activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  2. Assist patients with daily living activities.
  3. Provide necessary support to the nursing staff.
  4. Maintain a high standard of patient care.
  5. Ensure a positive patient experience.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare team members.
  7. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  8. Provide assistance with medical procedures as needed.
  9. Follow infection control protocols.
  10. Participate in continuing education programs related to patient care.
