
Patient Financial Advisor
The University of Kansas Health System is looking for an experienced Patient Financial Advisor to join our team. As the Patient Financial Advisor, you will be responsible for providing financial support to our patients and their families. You will help them understand and take control of their health care costs.The ideal candidate will have a background in health care finance, customer service, and communication. You should be a self-starter, a critical thinker, and have a strong work ethic. You should have a sense of compassion and empathy and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise to help our patients make informed financial decisions and ultimately improve their overall patient experience. Responsibilities:
- Assist patients and their families in understanding and taking control of their health care costs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate financial information is provided.
- Provide financial counseling and guidance to patients and families on a variety of topics including insurance coverage, payment options, and other financial assistance programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with various payers and other entities to ensure timely and accurate payment for services.
- Prepare and submit financial documents and related paperwork to appropriate entities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Serve as a resource to the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient financial information.
- Stay current on healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures related to billing and collections.
- Monitor and analyze patient financial data to identify trends and areas of improvement.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve patient financial experience.
