Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procedural Cardiology Nurse to join our amazing team. Our Procedural Cardiology Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures. This individual will be expected to demonstrate competence in the management of all aspects of the patient care within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. We are looking for an individual who is patient-focused, creative, and dedicated to providing exceptional care. The ideal candidate must have a current RN license in the state of Kansas, a BSN degree, and a minimum of two years of experience in a Cardiology setting. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task. Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab is preferred. Additionally, experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is desired.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administer high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures.
  2. Demonstrate competence in the management of all aspects of patient care within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
  3. Provide exceptional care to patients while demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of patient data and records in Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
  5. Monitor and document patient progress, symptom management, and medication adherence.
  6. Coordinate and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  7. Maintain a safe and clean environment in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  8. Assist with the training and development of new staff members.
  9. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and advancements in cardiology.
  10. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
