Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficacious medication management for the patients of our retail pharmacies. The ideal candidate must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, be licensed with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy, and have at least one year of retail, ambulatory care, or hospital pharmacy experience.The Retail Clinical Pharmacist will be part of a dynamic team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, providing direct patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, have the ability to multi-task, and be knowledgeable and compliant with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, the Retail Clinical Pharmacist must possess a strong commitment to patient safety and to the core values of The University of Kansas Health System. Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safe and efficacious medication management in retail pharmacies.
  2. Collaborate with other pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide direct patient care.
  3. Maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to improve patient safety.
  5. Monitor and report medication interactions, side effects, and other potential risks.
  6. Provide patient education.
  7. Monitor patient progress and adjust medications as needed.
  8. Ensure accurate medication dispensing and recordkeeping.
  9. Utilize technology to enhance patient care.
  10. Provide clinical support to other healthcare professionals.
